core topics in introduction to tourism studies, introduction to events, interpretation for tourism, marketing principles, academic and professional communication, accounting for managers, and tourism & events portfolio
choice of an option topic.

Second year

A typical second year might include:

core topics in research methods; place, culture and tourism; event design and management, and introduction to digital graphic design
a selection of option topics.

Third year

A typical third year might include:

core topics in contemporary issues in tourism, tourism & events business planning and innovation, and sustainable tourism planning and development
a tourism or event studies-focused placement
a tourism or events research project
a selection of option topics, including an opportunity to participate in an international field trip.

My placement was a big stepping stone. I did my placement at Adelaide Zoo, and I loved it. I also volunteered for 6 weeks at the Visitor Information Centre in the city. It was great to get out and talk to tourists.
