Flinders University Museum of Art (FUMA) is registered to receive eligible works of art through the Cultural Gifts Program. Gifts received through the federal government scheme are exempt from capital gains tax. You can claim the cost of valuations and, in most cases, claim the full market value of the gift as a tax deduction. You can also elect to spread your donation over a period of up to five years.
Gifts of art do not need to be made through the Cultural Gifts Program. In cases where you prefer to gift works directly and works have been deemed relevant to the collection, FUMA will arrange a Deed of Donation.
