One of our most popular pathways into a Flinders degree is Flinders Foundation Studies. This preparation program is open to eligible applicants, enabling you to begin your studies at university.
*Commonwealth Government funded program. Students are expected to undertake further university studies upon successful completion of Foundation Studies.
I was unsure what I wanted to do at university, and I found the Flinders Foundation Studies program was a good way of getting my foot in the door. The teachers were relatable and cared about the lessons they taught, as well as helping me to decide that I wanted to study nursing in the future. If you successfully complete the Foundation Studies Program, Flinders University will guarantee your entry to the following undergraduate degrees:
Upon successful completion of the Foundation Studies Program you are eligible to apply for other courses, however, selection is competitive so it pays to work hard and achieve the best results you can.
You can apply for most courses via internal transfer. Check the internal transfer page to see if the course is available via internal transfer or if a SATAC application is required.

We offer Foundation Studies in both semester 1 (February entry) and semester 2 (July entry). Applications open a few months prior for both intakes and the program runs for one semester.
In Semester 1, there is an additional option of undertaking Foundation Studies entirely on campus at Flinders University (evening classes). This is suited to those with day-time commitments and will run for seven months, allowing you to begin your university degree in Semester 1 the following year.
Online options will soon be available. Foundation Studies students, whether you live in regional Australia or in a metropolitan area, can apply to study online.

This program is not available to students enrolled in Year 12 studies (South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) or equivalent) or to students enrolled below Year 12 studies; or to those who were eligible to be enrolled in Year 12 studies in the year they wish to commence this program.
There are two admissions per year; semester 1 (February) and semester 2 (July).
