“What excites me the most studying at Flinders is being able to do hands-on filming. I find it very helpful that Flinders has good filming equipment for the students to borrow.
Which makes working on assignments that require filming easier for us as we don’t have to rent equipment outside. The lecturers are also really helpful to us. They do their best to help us whenever we need it and they are very supportive to us during our studies.
The degree focused mainly on honing my skills in making short/micro documentaries. We made several documentaries within my 2-year study, and I studied different aspects of filmmaking and documentary production. The degree was very hands on, and we were able to really practice on-set filming.
I think the education I’ve had here at Flinders has helped me become a more organised person and equipped me with basic technical knowledge in regards to various film equipment, which will be useful when I acquire work in the future.”

“I had a really good study experience at Flinders University. I studied my undergraduate degree in media production in China, and I am so full of passion for the industry. I was excited to be able to study this degree under two cultural backgrounds.
Everything I studied was interesting! In addition to the study of theoretical knowledge, I also had many opportunities for practice. Especially for our profession, the school provided a lot of photographic and film equipment to help us learn. Not only has it reduced the economic pressure of students, but it has also received good training.
In the process of study, I am very fortunate to have an internship in a film production company. This internship helped me to get to know the industry I am going to work on. I participated in a lot of interesting work during the internship. I really like Flinders University, here you can find a major that you are passionate about, very friendly lecturers in the class – and you can find your future direction.”
