At Flinders, our students are equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to be future-ready. Whatever your organisational objectives, we can assist in facilitating opportunities to connect you with Flinders students and recent graduates.
Connect to Current Students
Flinders Careers Festival 2023: We are excited to be back on the national careers fair timetable and are thrilled to be hosting a two-day face-to-face event at the Bedford Park campus over:
Wednesday 22nd March (Business), 11:00am - 2:00pm
Thursday 23rd March (STEM), 11:00am - 2:00pm
Enquiries relating to the Flinders Careers Festival can be directed to Robyn Gamble, Employer Engagement.
The Big Meet: held at the Adelaide Convention Centre each March, the Big Meet is another great opportunity to connect with Flinders students face to face.
Information Sessions: Hold an online or face to face session to interact with Flinders students and talk about your organisation, industry and opportunities. We can coordinate and host the session for you, or you can host yourself and we can promote to your targeted discipline areas.
Pop-up Stands on campus: host a table in a high-traffic student area to meet and have conversations with our students.
Host a student via Work Integrated Learning (WIL) or Industry Projects
Social Media: provide us with tiles suitable for uploading to Instagram, LinkedIn or Facebook. We can also discuss showcasing Flinders graduates working with your organisation through social media 'takeovers'.
Professional Development: share your industry expertise and knowledge by upskilling our students. Demystify your sector or highlight alternative career pathways for degrees that have broad applications (eg. Science, Arts). Share with students how they can contribute to an inclusive workplace or perhaps you might like to showcase how your organisation is providing solutions to global issues - and how students can contribute as they embark on their own careers. Sessions can be offered stand-alone or as part of the Horizon Professional Development Award.
Connect to Student Clubs and Associations
Flinders University has a diverse range of student clubs and associations, both recreational and academic, which provide students with opportunities to connect and build networks with like-minded people while they study. Many clubs and associations promote unique events to students through their social channels, these can include:
- Career Workshops
- Industry events
- Speed Networking
- Industry Site visits
Connecting and fostering a partnership with a university club and/or association can help you as an employer connect and engage with students.
Ways you can connect with a club and its members include:
- Getting involved with student events
- Facilitating professional development seminars
Connect to Colleges and Academic Staff
For many students, academics are the first point of contact for information on career opportunities relevant to their studies. Connecting with academic staff may provide you with insight into how higher degree education is preparing students for the workplace and allows you to inform academics and their students about your industry, its future, and the opportunities on offer.
Ways to connect may include:
- Guest Lecturing
- Industry Site Visits
- Industry projects
