Are you someone who wants to make a positive impact on generations of young people? Join us at Open Days and find out everything you need to know about becoming a teacher – be it in Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary, Secondary Health &Physical Education or Inclusive & Specialised Education.
So, you think you might want to become a teacher? Our Undergraduate Education information session is the first step. Meet the academics who will inspire you throughout your studies and guide you towards a successful career as a teacher. They’ll discuss what you’ll learn, what you can specialise in, where teaching can take you, and of course why Flinders is the right choice for your journey. Take advantage of the Q&A towards the end of the session, and if you’re really keen to have a 1-on-1 chat with those in the know, head to our info stand on Level 1 of the Student Hub afterwards.
Once you’ve learned all about studying Education at Flinders, scope out where you’ll be having your classes with our Education tour. Visit the Education building, where you’ll be spending a lot of your time throughout your degree in tutorials and lectures so you can familiarise yourself with the facilities in advance and take the opportunity to see some of our current education students in action.
There’s a huge amount of wildlife to be seen around the beautiful Flinders University Bedford Park campus, but nothing is more prevalent and iconic than the ducks! Fortunately for them, our hook-a-duck fishing activity doesn’t use real ones, but with each catch you’ll find a different type of teaching setting that could suit you. You might even be lucky enough to hook yourself a prize!
While you’re there, chat to our friendly and ever-so-passionate academics at the Education information stand. Questions, concerns, uncertainties, 10-year-plans: nothing education-related is off limits! You can find this activity and our information stand on Level 1 of the Student Hub.
These are just some of the more than 200 sessions, activities and tours available at Flinders Open Days. Register now and use the online planner to plan your ideal open day experience!
Over two days, Friday 12 and Saturday 13 August, explore the amazing Bedford Park campus, from the state-of-the-art facilities to the awesome cafes, stunning natural surroundings and more.
