Over two days, Friday 12 and Saturday 13 August, Flinders’ amazing Bedford Park campus will roll out the red carpet so you can explore everything from state-of-the-art facilities to great cafes, stunning natural surroundings and more.

The massive hub and plaza will be packed with activities, our lecture halls and labs will be buzzing with information sessions, and staff, students and lecturers will be on hand to help you understand everything about uni life and the path to your dream career.

Program highlights

Anatomage Table

Visualize anatomy exactly as you would with a fresh cadaver with our Anatomage Table - the only fully-segmented real human 3D anatomy system.

Augmented Reality

Experience the state-of-the-art HoloLens augmented reality learning technology used in our Nursing degrees and treat virtual patients for a variety of conditions and trauma.

Stock Exchange Simulation

Attendees will be given imitation money to buy stocks and then given 15 minutes to make it grow! The player with the largest growth in value wins a prize.

Analyse Blood Spatter

The speed at which blood hits a surface and the patterns which result can tell a forensic scientist a lot about what took place, including the types of injuries sustained. Come along to see how blood spatter patterns can be analysed and learn more about forensic science.

The VOID

Did you know that 500 hours of video is uploaded to Youtube every minute? Experience motion capture and 360 degree virtual reality in Flinders' cutting-edge, multipurpose production stage, The Void - a platform for creating screen experiences of any kind.

Archaeology Dig Pit

Experience a day in the life of an Archaeologist and get hands-on with live demonstrations using state of the art archaeological equipment.

LIVE Shark Dissection

Come see a shark dissection and learn about shark morphology, anatomy and ecology. See what it may have eaten and learn how scientists assess maturity and age in sharks.

The Flinders Solar Car Program

This program provides global experience for Flinders students to build a Solar Car and get it race ready. Students work with industry and leading academics to develop all aspects of the car including design, mechanical and electrical development through to bio-medical support systems, software and on-board IT systems.

I want to attend Open Day with my family, how many people should register?

We cannot wait to see you on campus at Open Days! By registering and attending Flinders Open Days 2022, you’ll go into the draw to win some awesome prizes - a MacBook Air, iPhone 13, AirPods or Flinders merch are all up for grabs! This year you’ll be able to plan your ideal Open Days with our brand-new online planner. Joining in on all the fun has never been easier.

Each registration is individual and requires a unique email address. If you are coming as a group, you can simply register once to gain access to the planner. If each of your friends is looking to explore Open Days on their own, we recommend registering individually.

And don’t forget, your on-campus registration also gets you exclusive access to Open Days 365 to read up on anything you may have missed!

I want to attend multiple sessions at the same time, can I view the sessions later?

With over 200 sessions, activities and tours, Open Days is jam-packed! We have done our best to avoid session clashes, but there is soooo much to fit into just two days! Fear not, if you are caught chasing ducks, all our sessions will also be live streaming on our website throughout the day.

If you can’t be in two places at once (it’s hard, we get it), your Open Days registration also gives you exclusive access to Open Days 365 where you’ll find hundreds of video sessions and webinars on demand. We promise you will be able to find the session you were wanting to attend right there!

Important covid-19 information

Flinders University Open Days will comply with the current directions set out by SA Government and SA Health. We will provide updates via our website, social media, and email.
Places are limited to ensure physical distancing with best endeavours for 1.5m between people.
Face masks are not mandatory. However, it is strongly recommended that you wear a mask if you are in close contact with other visitors.
If you are unwell or have any cold or flu-like symptoms, please do not attend. We ask that you stay at home. Check out Open Days 365 for your at home Open Days experience!
Please always practice good hand hygiene. Wash your hands often with soap and running water, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
Please do not attend if you have COVID, are in quarantine, or in isolation waiting for test results.
Should you be unable to attend due to ill health or COVID isolation reasons you will be able to book a tailored 1:1 Campus Tour with our Student Advisors at a later date.
