Bioinspired Robotics and Signal Processing
Research
The research focus of this theme is the design of dynamic algorithms and ‘smart’ sensors in order to allow systems to be more adaptable to complex and changing conditions.
Strong inspiration is drawn from biology, particular from information processing in visual systems, to form the core of our advancements and provide a point of difference over more traditional robotics and signal processing approaches.
These techniques are now being successfully migrated to other imaging modalities such as radar and underwater sonar imaging.
