Autonomous Systems
Research
Military, commercial and scientific organisations are increasingly turning to the use of unmanned autonomous maritime platforms to reduce cost and risk, increase capability and capacity, and enable new missions. To achieve acceptance, these platforms must demonstrate trusted autonomous behaviours and performance that enable the platforms to operate effectively and safely without a human in the loop, even under unforeseen circumstances.
Our maritime autonomy capabilities are based on our group’s combined skills in guidance, navigation & control systems, signal processing & sensor fusion, and AI & Machine Learning as well as our capacity to build autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) to requirements.
