The postgraduate clinical rehabilitation program provides opportunities for health professionals from any allied health, medical or nursing field to enhance their knowledge, skills and attitudes in clinical rehabilitation.
We offer a number of Clinical Rehabilitation study options, including Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters of Clinical Rehabilitation. Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Rehabilitation are guaranteed entry into the Masters program, or students may apply to enrol in the Masters of Clinical Rehabilitation directly.

The program exposes you to the principles and practice of clinical rehabilitation and provides the opportunity of studying in an area relevant to your field of clinical practice. The Masters of Clinical Rehabilitation (Neurological Physiotherapy / Neurological Occupational Therapy) are designed to advance your neurological rehabilitation skills.
In addition, the Masters by coursework provides training in research methods and enables you to develop either research expertise or advanced practice skills in clinical rehabilitation and apply this to a specific project.
You can participate in a clinical placement.
Students enrolled in the 74-unit Masters of Clinical Rehabilitation will complete a 9-unit placement topic in a rehabilitation hospital (topic REHB8030 Clinical Rehabilitation Practice). This is optional for the 54-unit Masters of Clinical Rehabilitation.
Students enrolled in the Masters of Clinical Rehabilitation (Neurological Physiotherapy) will complete a 9-unit advanced neurological placement in a rehabilitation hospital (topic REHB9041 Advanced Practice in Neurological Physiotherapy).
Students enrolled in the Masters of Clinical Rehabilitation (Occupational Therapy) will complete a 9-unit advanced neurological placement in a rehabilitation hospital (topic REHB9043 Neurological Occupational Therapy Advanced Practice).
In addition, Occupational Therapy students enrolled in any program can chose to complete the 9-unit Occupational Therapy Driver Assessment and Rehabilitation topic (REHB8037) which provides occupational therapists with the training required to be able to practice within the advanced area of driver assessment and retraining for people with medical conditions.
As per Australian Government regulations, courses that have a placement involving contact with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults, will require students to undergo criminal history check prior to placement.

Applicants who do not hold the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Rehabilitation or the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Rehabilitation, or must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant clinical area.
In addition applicants must have at least two years' full-time equivalent post degree experience in a related clinical area. Applicants who have at least two years’ full-time equivalent post degree work experience in a related clinical area within an Australian context may be eligible for 18 units of credit towards the Masters in Clinical Rehabilitation, including the 9 units of the placement topic plus 9 units of elective topics.
Applicants must hold a bachelor degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification plus a minimum of two years' full-time equivalent post-degree work experience in a relevant clinical discipline by the commencement date of the course; or hold the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Rehabilitation or equivalent qualification.
In addition, all applicants must be currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority as an Occupational Therapist, and maintain this registration for the duration of their study in the degree.
Applicants must hold a bachelor degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification plus a minimum of two years' full-time equivalent post-degree work experience in a relevant clinical discipline by the commencement date of the course; or hold the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Rehabilitation or equivalent qualification.
In addition, all applicants must be currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority as a Physiotherapist, and maintain this registration for the duration of their study in the degree.

Applicants who do not hold the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Rehabilitation must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification and have not less than two years' postgraduate experience in a relevant clinical area.
Applicants who do not hold the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Rehabilitation or the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Rehabilitation must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification in a health related area from an approved tertiary institution. In addition applicants must have at least two years' post degree experience in a related clinical area. Applicants who have at least two years’ post degree work experience in a related clinical area within an Australian context may be eligible for 18 units of credit towards the Masters in Clinical Rehabilitation, including the 9 units of the placement topic plus 9 units of elective topics.
