The Master of Business Administration (Marketing) provides a comprehensive foundation in core business principles, with a specialisation in marketing. With sustainability built-in to every topic, industries 4.0 and 5.0 will come to life beyond the concepts.

This specialisation is designed to prepare leaders to learn the latest concepts which can be applied to marketing roles immediately. You will deepen your knowledge of marketing principles and how to use them to drive business results.

The MBA (Marketing) is designed for the future, with sustainability built in. You will learn how to take advantage of technology in order to test and understand customer motivations, track the path to purchase, shape emerging market niches and improve the organisation’s brand. This MBA course has industry engagement embedded, with a total of up to 36 weeks of experience available through Work Integrated Learning and industry programs.

Marketing Directors and Managers, Artificial Intelligence Architects and Loyalty Engineer jobs are required across every sector. They plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate all marketing activities within organisations.

What you will study

The Graduate Diploma and MBA courses provide a structured pathway containing 16 topics. There is flexibility in the course but generally students undertake 8 business and management core topics, four elective topics and four topics relevant to marketing.

First year (and the Graduate Diploma) contains study in human resource management, marketing, economics, finance, ethics, sustainability, and the law. Second year introduces digital marketing, export management and consumer behaviour.

You can also choose an industry placement instead of one core topic. And you could also extend your industry exposure by electing to undertake an industry entrepreneurial program: FOMENT (a wine, viticulture and tourism program), or the IMA (Innovative Manufacturing Accelerator).

You will also undertake a major industry project which will bring together everything you have learnt over the course and put it into practice.

Entry requirements

Graduate Diploma

Applicants must either:

hold a degree or equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution OR
hold the Flinders University Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.

Master

Applicants must either hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification; or hold the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Flinders University or equivalent qualification.

Application requirements

Applicants must provide an electronic copy of either their original or certified copy of their Official Academic Transcript for all qualifications relevant to their application.

Unofficial academic transcripts, statement of results, exam slips, screen shots of grades, AHEGS etc. will not be accepted.

If academic transcripts are in a language other than English, applicants must submit copies of both the original documents and full translations. Translations must show results for all subjects undertaken and be certified by an independent accredited translator. It is an applicant’s responsibility to comply with requests to provide further documentation, either in the original language or English translation.

Flinders graduates of a Bachelor degree or Flinders students currently completing their Bachelor degree at Flinders are not required to provide a copy of their official transcript for their Flinders course.

An application can be made for up to 3 courses in order of preference. You will be assessed for entry to the course you are eligible for as per your preferences.
