First year A typical first year may include:	core topics in earth and environmental sciences, marine sciences, water resources and society, introduction to geographical information systems, and the nature of science a mathematics or numeracy topic a selection of elective topics.
Second year A typical second year may include:	core topics in coasts and oceans, global climate change, coastal processes, and an introduction to remote sensing a choice of earth sciences, environment, archaeology, biology and engineering topics a selection of elective topics.
Third year A typical third year may include:	core topics in coastal environments, and an introduction to managing coastal and marine environments applied environmental practice topics a choice of earth sciences, environment, archaeology, biology and engineering topics a selection of elective topics.
Honours year A typical honours year may include:	a major coasts and oceans research thesis allowing high-performing students to progress to a higher degree by research further development of professional skills, particularly those relevant to research and development.
