The Knowledge Translation (KT) team provides support and advice to all researchers in the evidence that drives effective knowledge translation. The paths from evidence to practice and policy can be strengthened by using evidence-based strategies for implementation.

The KT team also works with health services and care partners on implementation projects. Their deep understanding of implementation science ensures translation of research outputs is part of the core competencies of all Institute researchers.

Patient-centred care, user-centred design, sustainable and accessible care, and innovation, can, and will, include a significant focus on new and emerging technologies for self-care and caring. The Technology enabling theme team assist researchers with understanding technology in care settings and the potential for problem-solving with technological innovation, such as using virtual reality, telehealth, signal analysis and robotics.

Innovation in methods and methodology is essential in research. The Methodological Innovation team is assisting researchers to incorporate innovation in their research methodologies and approaches, especially to achieve effective interdisciplinary activity, co-design with consumers and providers, and to incorporate and appreciate Indigenous ways of knowing and researching.

The Health and Social Care Economics Enabling theme provides technical support and strategic advice for Caring Futures Institute researchers incorporating health and social care economics into their grants and evaluations. This highly specialised team has sophisticated skills in health economics, and the systems and structural aspects of the delivery of care in Australia. They also have skills and expertise in the development of quality measurement tools to assess the quality of care and quality of life.
