Teaching program

Our Government students learn how international relations and public policy operate. They learn how governments and non-state actors interact in the private and the not-for-profit sectors within a fluid web of power and resource relations at the local, national, international and supranational levels, and leave with skills that position them well to influence policy and diplomacy.

We offer a Bachelor of International Relations and Political Science and postgraduate programs in development administration, international relations , public administration and management, and public policy.

Washington Internship Program

Since 2000, Flinders has sent over 120 students on a unique program which provides a placement in the US Congress.

Students work full-time in the office of a member of the United States Senate or the US House of Representatives, providing an opportunity, unparalleled in Australasia, to experience political life in Washington DC.
