The Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute as part of the College of Medicine and Public Health (CMPH) at Flinders University will be offering scholarships to high achieving Honours students admitted into the Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) This scholarship will recognise and support students showing excellent grant writing skills with the aim to foster their potential to become a researcher.
Applications will be accepted from part-time students who have extenuating circumstances that prevent them from studying full-time (e.g. disabilities, carer responsibilities).
The Scholarship will be awarded to the top ranked applicant at the completion of the interview process.
The interview will be convened by the Chair of the Honours committee (or representative) and will comprise at least four (4) members of the Honours committee.
The selection panel will individually score each applicant based on their proposal and interview. The scholarship will be awarded to the applicant with the highest score after the highest and lowest scores have been excluded.
All students who submit their research grant proposal by the deadline (without extension) will automatically be considered for this award. Eligible students will then be shortlisted following the grading of the RGP. The top three highest ranked scores (which may comprise more than three students) will be invited to to attend an interview to discuss their submitted project. Students may elect not to participate in the interview process, however this would make them ineligible for the scholarship.
