Australian Allied Health in Palliative Care (AAHPC) was founded in 2011 at the Palliative Care Australia conference in Cairns. It was borne out of a passion for improving holistic client care, and promoting the valuable role allied health plays in end-of-life and palliative care.
AAHPC's vision is to promote and support allied health professionals with an interest in palliative care, to optimise function and participation in valued and essential activities of daily living for people with palliative care needs. AAHPC has now grown to represent over 300 occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech pathologists, dieticians, social workers and psychologists working in, or with an interest in, end of life and palliative care.
