Research Associate in Mechatronic Engineering
College of Science and Engineering
Yuxin Yang received his Honours degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Adelaide, Adelaide, Australia, in 2020. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Adelaide in 2026. His doctoral research focused on the development of magnetic levitation-based contactless measurement technology for small horizontal force measurement. During his Ph.D., he developed analytical, numerical, and experimental approaches for electromagnetic force modelling, coil design, magnetic levitation control, and non-contact measurement system validation. His Ph.D research experience includes magnetic levitation systems, contactless measurement techniques, MATLAB/Simulink modelling, finite element analysis, and control system development. His Ph.D. work was motivated by the need for accurate small-force measurement under large vertical loads, with potential applications in fluid mechanics, aerodynamic testing, and precision measurement systems.
Currently, he is a Research Associate at Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia. At Flinders University, he has worked on high-viscosity fluid dispensing systems and is currently involved in hydraulic system modelling and digital twin development. His current research interests include contactless measurement, mechatronic system modelling, hydraulic systems, high-viscosity fluid dispensing, digital twins, model-based simulation, automated testing, and applied engineering system development.
