Lecturer (Teaching Specialist (Clin))
College of Health and Enablement
I'm a Lecturer (Clinical Teaching Specialist) at Flinders University and a Registered Nurse, with clinical experience in Emergency Nursing and Rural Health Liaison roles. My work focuses on developing an empathetic, capable, and adaptable nursing workforce equipped to provide and lead person centered care across complex and diverse healthcare environments.
I currently serve as the Nursing Placement Education Coordinator, providing strategic academic leadership across curriculum delivery and the coordination of clinical learning experiences in metropolitan and regional settings across SA and the NT. This role involves extensive collaboration with health services and industry partners to enhance workforce readiness, strengthen care continuity, and support successful transition to clinical practice.
I hold postgraduate qualifications in Public Health, which underpin my interest in population‑level health outcomes, equity, and the design of responsive, integrated care systems. My teaching and leadership are informed by a broader systems perspective, with a focus on how education, service coordination, and care delivery intersect to influence health outcomes and system performance.
I'm also a PhD student, commencing research in exploring fundamental dementia care needs and patterns of emergency service utilisation, particularly in rural and community contexts. This work aims to generate evidence to inform service improvement, support person and family centred care planning, and contribute to more effective decision‑making across health and social care systems.
