Dr Lauren Wearne is a Research Fellow for the Registry of Senior Australians (ROSA) Research Centre.
Before joining the team in 2026, Lauren's research used computer tomography and image analysis to quantify the mehcanical behaviuour of human tissues. She undertook her PhD at Flinders University, assessing the mechanical environment that surrounded a knee implant immediately after surgery. Her research then took her to Lund University, Sweden, where she investigated how the mechanical properties of articular cartilage changed with osteoarthritis progression.
Lauren is currently investigating the health care that older Australians with chronic health conditions receive and if this care is in concordance with clinical guidelines.
