Jikke Adema is the Senior Business Analyst (Sustainability) at Flinders University, where she plays a pivotal role in delivering the Flinders 2030 Sustainability Strategy. With a strong academic foundation in biology and environmental policy, and professional qualifications in project, risk, and business analysis, Jikke brings a systems-thinking approach to embedding sustainability across the institution. Her work spans internal performance tracking, external reporting through frameworks such as GHG Protocol, STARS and global impact rankings, and strategic initiatives that align environmental goals with broader university priorities. She collaborates closely with academic and operational teams to integrate sustainability into teaching, reporting, and planning.
Before stepping into her current role, Jikke led a team of research support staff at the College of Science and Engineering, focusing on pre-award processes and support for research grant applications. This experience deepened her understanding of the academic research landscape and institutional operations. Earlier in her career, she worked in government agencies and coordinated multidisciplinary science programs, building expertise in environmental knowledge management and evidence-based decision-making.
Her work demonstrates a strong ability to navigate complex institutional environments and drive meaningful change through collaboration, data-driven insights, and strategic planning.
