Caitlin Whan is a Digital Engagement & Outreach Librarian at Flinders University Library. She leads the development and delivery of digital communications, supporting students, researchers and staff to connect with library services, resources and spaces.
 
Her work focuses on content strategy, user experience and digital engagement, including social media and communications. She works across teams to ensure messaging is clear, accessible and aligned with user needs and library priorities.

Caitlin brings a background in both marketing and libraries, combining data-informed decision-making, creative storytelling and a focus on usability to strengthen connection and engagement across the library.

Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing and English) | University of Adelaide

Key responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver digital campaigns, outreach and student engagement activities
  • Create and manage content across social media and digital channels
  • Design and develop digital screen content and online exhibitions
  • Support planning and promotion of major events (e.g. Open Days, Orientation, Book Club)
  • Improve how users find and engage with library services and collections
  • Contribute to digital projects with a focus on user experience
  • Assist with library reporting and strategic initiatives
  • Work with teams to review and improve digital content
  • Track engagement and use data to refine activities
