Biosafety Officer
Research Development and Support
Belinda Cox is a biotechnologist and Biosafety Officer with a strong commitment to promoting best practice across all aspects of laboratory safety, with a particular focus on biosafety. She began her career as a researcher in both government and university settings, specialising in plant biotechnology, where she worked on crop disease research and the development of molecular diagnostic tools.
Belinda later transitioned into biosafety coordinator role, supporting the operation and compliance of physical containment and biosecurity facilities, including a PC3/BC3 facility. She has extensive experience advising on the design and commissioning of new containment facilities and has played a key role in achieving OGTR and biosecurity certifications.
An expert in biosafety and biosecurity frameworks, Belinda provides high-level technical and regulatory advice to support safe and compliant research and teaching activities.
