Dr Amanda Adams is a adjunct Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, she currently works as the Assistant Director for User Research and Experience within the myGov team at Services Australia.

Amanda has experience creating tailored online content for diverse audiences including patient, carers, consumers and workforce. In her role as a digital lead, she has managed digital projects, and has wide ranging skills in designing, developing, and evaluating technologies including websites, platforms and apps. Her practical experience extends to UI/UX interface design, information architecture, content design, user experience research and data analytics to understand user behaviours or interaction patterns. Over many years, she has built and refined her research and management skills working in digital health projects focussing on palliative and aged care.

Amanda has also recently completed her PhD and is an Early Career Researcher with the Research Centre for Palliative Care, Death and Dying at Flinders University. Her research investigated how evaluations can improve universal health interface designs and how digital health literacy can influence how people interact with palliative care information. She has research interests that include:

  • Interdisciplinary user experience and usability evaluation practice within agile development,
  • Augmentation of information interfaces addressing user needs or requirements,
  • Integration of AI and genAI into user interfaces,
  • Influence and impacts of the digital divide, social determinants of health and levels of digital competency on how users successfully engage with online information or services to support and improve their every day living.
