Clinical neuroscience and motor control

Course content

This one day course will examine the advances in neuroscience based treatment of motor control disorders following acquired brain injury or degenerative neurological conditions in adults. We will focus on the theories of human motor control, neuroplasticity and how 0to apply theory to implement effective treatment practice.

Learning outcomes

• Review the structure and function of the central and peripheral nervous system and how it relates in injury and disease.
• Explore latest updates in investigative and rehabilitative technology such as TMS and fMRI.
• Explore theories of human motor control and how they relate to evidence based treatment strategies in neurorehabilitation.
• Discuss treatment concepts in regards to sensory changes, pain and other common neurological movement disorders.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance at the completion of the workshop. This course complies with the professional development standards of health professional accreditation bodies and attendees may use these hours to accrue CPD points.
