Building access and facilities

General access

The building is accessible between 7.45am to 6pm Monday to Friday via Flinders Street or Victoria Square. Internal autodoors on levels 1, 2 and 10 are accessible between 8am and 9pm (no swipe card required during normal opening hours).

Staff: the building is accessible via swipe card (from Victoria Square side entrance) between 6am to 9pm.

If after hours access is required by an external user before 8am or after 9pm weekdays and/or on weekends, please email pfd@flinders.edu.au for more information.

Students and staff - carry your ID card with you at all times.

Student access

Flinders students have general access to the building as per times above. For after hours access (including weekends) for scheduled classes or intensives please contact your College support officer or lecturer. Flinders at Victoria Square is open on most Saturdays 10am to 10pm during semester 1 and 2 including exam weeks. For more information please email pfd@flinders.edu.au

For students who do not have an ID card

Staff access

Flinders staff can access the building, including levels 1, 2, 6, 10 and 11 weekdays between 6am to 9pm. Staff can access the building outside of these hours including weekends but must have additional access added to your staff ID card (note: before 8am and after 6pm a swipe card is required to gain access to the building). To arrange access on your staff ID card please raise a Service One request. This must be arranged prior to entry.

Level 11 access

Level 11 Flexibility Centre is accessible via swipe card only. To arrange access on your staff ID card please raise a Service One request.

For boardroom bookings, automatic doors will be programmed to open for the duration of your meeting or event.

After hours access issues

Please contact Security on 82012880 /speed dial Security from an internal phone between 4.30pm to 9pm for any issues regarding access during this time.

As there are no Customer Service team members on site during the weekend staff and students need to ensure their card had been programmed.

In an emergency: contact Security staff (Bedford Park) via an internal phone on x12880 or via mobile on 8201 2880.

Building exits

To exit from level 1, 2, 6, 10 and 11 or the building use the push buttons or free handle out at the designated exits.

Lockers

There are digital lockers available for short-term storage and charging laptops on levels 2 and 10. Lockers are emptied every Friday at 9pm and any items recovered at this time will be moved to lost property. Food items will be disposed of.

Lost property

Security can be found on the ground floor from 4.00pm to 9pm. Please email security@flinders.edu.au.au or call 82012880 with lost property enquiries.

Prayer room

The prayer room is on level 6, room 6.10. It is open Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm and most Saturdays 10am to 10pm.

Security

Security is located on the ground floor from 4.30pm to 9pm Monday to Friday. For assistance call 82012880 from a mobile or press the security speed dial button on any internal phone. Alternately, email security@flinders.edu.au.

evacuation and first aid
locker issues
headphone return
library book return
student assignment return
office key return
printer paper refill.

Student kitchen

Student kitchens are located on levels 1, 2, 6 and 10 and are fully equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, instant boiling and chilled filtered water. Limited cutlery and crockery is also available.

Please ensure any used or dirty dishes are placed in the dishwasher provided.

Telephones

Internal phones are located in student areas on levels 1, 2 and 10. You can make internal calls to any Flinders number using the last 5 digits. For example, the Customer Service number is 7421 9406 so you would dial x19406.
