25+ Years of GIS and World GIS Day Celebrations

November 16 saw the Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) team at Flinders Uni, staff past and present, Alumni and current students, gather at Alere Cafe to celebrate World GIS day... And add a date they can all remember for future GIS celebrations!

Attendees heard Jeanne Young and Robert Keane talk about the humble beginnings of GIS at Flinders 25-ish years ago, and how it has now developed into the only Geospatial Information Systems program being offered by a South Australian University today. 

Drinks, nibbles, and good times were shared by all, and we look forward to strengthening the Flinders GIS Alumni and Industry connections before next year's World GIS Day celebrations.
