Ms Sandra Russell ACM (GradCertPubSecMgmt 2009), who was awarded an Australian Corrections Medal for her distinguished service to state civilian correctional services for adults. This is the first year that Australian Corrections Medals have been awarded.
Dr Tom Karmel AM (BA ‘72, BA(Hons) ‘73), an adjunct professor at the National Institute of Labour Studies at Flinders University, was awarded a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia and commended for significant service to vocational education research and administration, and to the community through public administration roles.
Professor David Cooper AO (BMBS ‘80), was made an Officer of the Order of Australia and commended for distinguished service to intensive care medicine in the field of traumatic brain injury as a clinician and to medical education as an academic, researcher and author.
Associate Professor Helen Evans AO (BSocAdmin ‘77), was made an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to global health as an advocate for the improved treatment of infectious diseases in underprivileged populations, particularly women and children.
