What can you expect from the Diploma in Health?
This full-time course includes 24 hours of face-to-face instruction per week.
Students studying an 8 month diploma will study 4 x 4.5 unit topics per study period supported by core skills classes in language, numeracy and study skills.
Students studying a 12 month diploma will cover the same content over three study periods with the final study plan determined by topic availability.
In addition, students can attend between 2 to 6 hours of support and elective classes per week.
Working in small groups with dedicated educators you will be exposed to English, Numeracy and Study Skills while learning specialist knowledge that will launch you into your destination degree. Learning will be collaborative and engaging using the latest transition pedagogy techniques.
Students in the Flinders University Academy will be supported to develop their emerging identity in an Australian context. They will also work closely with students enrolled across the Academy to explore common areas of study and to facilitate transition to the Australian university environment.
Support classes provide students with further opportunity to accelerate their learning and focus on skill areas that they would like to improve. These classes can provide tailored English language content and activities to prepare students for the field of study in their destination degree.
